I love beautiful things!
Designing,coordinating and creating have always been my passions.
My love of French design began with my obsession of French Couture, solidified when I was planning my West Sussex wedding in 1995 and discovered Haute Couture lingerie designer, Cadolle. The romantic, antique feel of my magnificent corset inspired my entire wedding, as well as a life-long devotion to fabric and design. My head is in the clouds just remembering it!
I went on to own a boutique in Burlington, VT for more than a decade, selling Cadolle pieces, along with other exquisite French lingerie and clothing, as well as custom, French-inspired bedding.
After I sold the store, my passion and transition to working with antique French textiles was seamless, like I had known and understood them always. Their beauty and rich histories enchant and captivate me.
Today, I am thrilled to offer my unique pieces and original designs, as well as custom designs, tailored to your specifications.
My textiles are sourced directly from France, as well as from collectors and dealers worldwide for their individual character, beauty and historical significance.
Most are at least 100 years old and have long fascinating histories. While some have been stowed away for decades in farmhouse cupboards others have been salvaged from the great Chateaux and majestic homes of France.
Condition is seldom perfect, as one would expect from a 100 year old textile. The timeworn look and signs of their unique history is part of what makes them so charming and special!
I often highlight these wonderful qualities in my designs, and you’ll often find original hand stitching or mends on the pieces.
